In Sanskrit, the word “Anahata” most closely translates to something that is “unstruck.” It describes a place deep within us where our soul lives. The Unstruck Sound is an acceptance and exploration of loneliness as we continuously retreat deep into ourselves. The solid object that fakes connection to our world shows us people whose lives always look better than our own, so we hide our loneliness like a flaw. Shadowed by the worship of independence, the lonely can often feel like failures. This project is an attempt at removing this stigma so we can talk about loneliness and solitude in ways that might empower our humanity.
